[Track Of The Day: Au.Ra “Sun”]

Au.Ra

Dreamy shit is very much the name of our game today. We are seriously struggling to think straight. No, seriously you guys, we’re having trouble constructing sentences out of the most basic elements of the English language, to an extent that a four year old would most likely think us mental. People are having to repeat really, really simple questions several times over because that shit is just not going in. Achieving sleep is now a problem, which is a bit gutting considering that we’ve been pretty good at that sort of jazz in recent months. Perhaps we’re just wintering; the verb that in our mind denotes not only a spontaneous increase in appetite and insomnia, but also the introduction of this lingering state of mong that just seems to follow us around everywhere. Somewhat ironic, then, that Sydney duo (don’t worry, we’re very mindful of how we’ve literally written several thousand times about how radical we think new music from Australia, in a million combinations, so we’ll not bang on about that for any longer than is necessary) Au.Ra are floating our proverbial boat with floaty new Track Of The Day Sun, given that we have decided that their chosen name means “gold sun”, and of course the literal connotations of the song title itself in tandem with the summery imagery we’ve decided to lift off their Facebook. But THAT’S JUST HOW WE ROLL. There are two men in this outfit. Their names are Tim and Tom. We do not know which is who. We do like their music a lot though. It’s kinda like someone took the plodding-essence of Lucy Rose‘s music and mushed it all up with a far-happier, zesty Man Without Country. We’re also going to go out on a limb and say this causes us to recollect Proper OrnamentsI’m Going Blind. Which is not a bad thing at all. Get into it. And while you’re at it, bring us a coffee or five.
