[Gig: FESTIFEEL! 2012]

Here at Killing Moon HQ, we love boobs. Absolutely love em. They’re awesome. As the dude said, everybody needs a bossum for a pillow, and obviously a few other things. But, sometimes, all is not as it should be in boob-world. Kris Hallenga was on the receiving end of what no 23 year old or, in a perfect world, anybody should ever really have to hear – that they have breast cancer. However, rather than laying back and taking such a drastic hit on one’s mind, body and soul (not that we really have any idea what that feels like), following a whole lotta radiotherapy, chemotherapy, then quite a bit more radiotherapy, Kris made it her own personal mission to highlight an issue taboo’d to kingdom come by it’s very nature and specifically encourage young people to hold onto their 20-something carefree lifestyle in order to worry about things like money, girls/boys, careers, and stuff that doesn’t really involve one facing their own mortality. A so, Coppafeel!was born. Kris then got some mates on board with the programme…

Where there are young people, the groundbreaking charity CoppaFeel! gets involved. Their mission is to stamp out late detection and misdiagnosis of breast cancer – a disease that now affects one in eight women in Britain – by encouraging 18-30 year olds to start a new, proactive and lifesaving habit of a lifetime – an audience previously overlooked by other breast cancer charities.

FESTIFEEL! kick starts the charity’s jam packed tour of the UK festival scene. Along with their boob tent and infamous CoppaFeel! stickers, the festival boob teams talk friendly but frankly about boobs, a subject that is often seen as taboo. Over the last two years, FESTIFEEL! has been graced with amazing acts such as Newton Faulkner, Noah and the Whale, Alex Clare, Norman Jay, Huw Stephens, The Milk, Cocknbullkid, Summer Camp, Cloud Control… who all turned up to pay their respects to all things boob. This year promises to be another biggie.

FESTIFEEL! returns for its third and most extravagant year taking place in its new residence, the Queen of Hoxton (600 capacity), Shoreditch, London, on 4th June 2012. Curated by their patron Fearne Cotton, FESTIFEEL! is set to provide another fruitful mix of musical acts, festival vibes, and performances, to kick start the Summer Festival Season, and all in aid of boobs. What better way to educate young people on the importance of checking their boobies regularly than getting some of the finest musical talent to inspire them? This year boasts quite a line up, including…

Killing Moon is proud to be buddying up with Coppafeel! for this year’s event – we’ll be doing some radio stuff, some filming stuff at the event itself, and there will be some kinda DJ action going on. And more likely than not, we’ll be rubbing our breasticals at any given opportunity. We highly recommend that you get involved and do the same.

Tickets are available from SeeTickets by clicking here. So, like, get one or ten.
